This DESIGN HOUSE part of DOROVINIS COUNTRY HOUSES, has the personal air and character of a leisure home of the Cretan countryside. Artistically restored and furnished with stylish furniture, it combines the lost qualities of traditional home architecture with modern facilities and luxury. The house is laid out in 60m2 with an additional 17m2 courtyard and a 40m2 top terrace. There is one double bedroom, an oblong living room with eating corner, Venetian style fireplace, kitchen and bathroom. Listed in a European network as one of ten most beautiful villages of Crete, is renowned for its healthy climate (dry and cool in summer, warm and sunny in winter), peaceful environment and splendid views to the sea. There are 3 walking paths starting from the village and leading to small chapels and places of outstanding natural beauty and two Byzantine-Venetian chapels with a famous collection of icons. There is also a mini market and a family tavern with hearty, inexpensive food, both open all year around. At 12 km the city of IERAPETRA offers all facilities and activities of a big city (shops, supermarkets, banks, doctors, water front esplanade with restaurants and cafes, archaeological Collection, organized beach etc),while the cosmopolitan city of AGIOS NICOLAOS (capital of the prefecture) is just at 20km (30m.ride) The location is ideal for all season’s , amidst a green (olive grooves, pine trees etc) and sculptured rocky environment of outstanding natural beauty, that offers peace and tranquility of mind and senses, while being equally distanced from the East (gulf of Mirabello) and South (Ierapetra) most beautiful, sandy-blue flag- beaches of Crete. Daily cultural excursions to archaeological sites (ancient cities of Lato, Zakros, Gournia ) Byzantine and Venetian monuments (Toplou Monastery, Panagia Kera medieval church, Spinaloga Island,) as well as to Natural Monuments (Idaion Andron archaeological cave, Golden Island , Vai palm forest ) can be combined with swimming to picturesque gulfs (supported always by small taverns)
