The seaside village of Stavros is located on the north of the Akrotiri Peninsula in Chania region and is about 15 km (15' driving) away from the airport and about 25' from the port of Souda. An impressive mountain rises on the beach with crystal clear water and golden sand. Those who dare to hike this mountain will enjoy the fascinating view and will see the cave where Antony Quinn was playing Zorba the Greek for the movie of the same name and was dancing the famous syrtaki dance on the beach underneath. This beach is quite protected from the winds and is an ideal place for families with small children. The area of Stavros is a famous resort with a developed infrastructure, including well - organized beach, super - market, numerous taverns with sea - food and Cretan cuisine. On the west side of the village there is a second beach. Between these two beaches, one can find the remains of the old venetian quarry, from where the stones were taken to build the beautiful harbour of Chania. The connection with a romantic Chania town is quite easy if you have your own car, otherwise there is a bus connection, bus departs 3-4 times per day. Villa Golden Sea is located in quiet neighborhood, about 150 m away from the beautiful beach of Stavros. It provides parking, lush garden with flowers, grapes, lemon and orange trees, here you can enjoy the sun and immerse yourself in nature. Spacious verandas of the ground floor are waiting for you to enjoy your meal with family or an afternoon drink. The villa consists of ground floor (130 m2) with a mountain view, opened plan kitchen and dining area with fire - place, 2 bedrooms, bathroom with shower. Kitchen has all kinds of electric appliances including a washing machine. All rooms are equipped with air - conditions, mosquito nets on all the windows. The interior of this level contains traditional features. The first level of 130 m2 provides a spacious rest and dining area, fire - place, 3 bedrooms, one bathroom with bathtub, big fully equipped kitchen with a washing machine, mosquito nets on all the windows and doors. All rooms are equipped with air - conditions. Our guests can visit different archeological sites in the area, monasteries, do some hiking and of course visit other marvelous beaches of the area like Tersanas, Kalathas, Seitan Limania, Marathi or Mahairida and maybe drive a bit longer to enjoy distant beaches, mountain gorges, cave or boat trips.
